Ikra Ahmad
Ikra is the proud daughter of South Asian immigrants and was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Fordham University and an M.A. in Global Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Her passion lies at the intersection of medicine, social justice, public health, policy, and technology, and she is particularly focused on improving quality of care and advancing health equity for society’s most vulnerable and historically marginalized populations. Ikra aspires to become a medical doctor and is deeply committed to practicing anti-racist, patient-centered care that actively works to dismantle barriers to healthcare access and equity. She is thrilled to join the brilliant team of scholars at the LEITH Lab.
Fun Fact: Ikra summited Mt. Kilimanjaro – the world’s highest free-standing mountain and the highest peak on the African continent – and hopes to one day successfully summit all Seven Summits (the highest peaks on each continent).
